      GALVESTON -- Sophie Marie Macicek, 97, of Galveston passed away Wednesday, April 6, 1994 at Gulf Health Care Center in Galveston.
       
      Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Frances Wendling officiating.  Burial will follow services at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston.
       
      Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. Thursday at Malloy and Son Funeral Home.  A rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Malloy and Son Funeral Home.
       
      Mrs. Macicek was born April 16, 1896 in Fayetteville, Texas.  She was a housewife.  A member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, a resident of Galveston since 1940 and a member of KJZT for 52 years.
       
      She is preceded in death by her husband Louis Macicek; daughters, Alice Macicek, Ruth Kesel, and son, Clarence Macicek, Edward Macicek, Herman Macicek, and Raymond Macicek.
       
      Survivors include: son, James P. Macicek and wife Shirley of Galveston; sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Gerik of West Texas; daughters-in-law Sabina Macicek of La Marque and Marlene Allen of New Waverly, Texas; son-in-law, Louis Kesel of Galveston; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
       
      Pallbearers will be James Macicek, Jr., Steven Macicek, Kevin Macicek, Clarence Macicek, Edward Macicek, Jr., Craig Macicek and Morris Soler.
