      Rosary for Joseph J. Makovy, 86, of West, will be recited at his home at 8 p.m. Thursday.  Mr. Makovy, a retired West farmer, died at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday at his home there.
       
      Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday in the Church of the Assumption in West with Father George Doskocil officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in West.
       
      Mr. Makovy was born in Czechoslovakia.  He lived most of his life in Hill County and retired from farming 14 years ago and moved to West.
       
      Survivors include his widow; two sons, Frank Makovy of Waco and Joe J. Makovy Jr. of Abbott; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Marek of West, Mrs. Sophie Beseda of Penelope, Mrs. Christine Rejek of Penelope and Miss Willie Mae Makovy of West; a brother, John Makovy of Abbott; a sister, Mrs. Joe Strnadel of Abbott; 32 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
