Anton Joe Orsak
Anton Joe Orsak, who lived near Schulenburg, passed away at Lavaca Medical Center in Hallettsville on Saturday, April 10. He died of a heart attack at age 79 years, 2 months, 25 days.
The funeral was held on Tuesday, April 13 at 10 a.m. at the St. John Catholic Church, with interment in the St. John Cemetery . The Rev. John Peters officiated. Pallbearers were Bradley Berger, Derrick Berger, Mark Bennett, Gary Fuller, Jessie Mendel and Alvin Besetzny. Named as honorary pallbearers were Edward Bennett, Alphonse Besetzny, Arnold Bohuslav, Alvin Fuller, Tim Henke, Moulton Veterans of Foreign Wars members, Skip and Donna Smith and Riley Trojacek.
Rosary was held on Monday, April 12 at 7 p.m. at Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home.
Born on Jan. 26, 1931 in Mansville, he was the son of Fridolin “Fred” and Mary (Till) Orsak. On June 11, 1955 , he married Josephine “Joyce” Morisak. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army, and was a member of Moulton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6971 as well as the St. John Catholic Church. Mr. Orsak’s occupation was welding.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Allan Berger of Hallettsville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tony Orsak of St. John , and David and Kathy Orsak of Schulenburg; a sister, Lillian Fojtik of Rosenberg ; and two grandchildren, Bradley Berger and Derrick Berger.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Alfons, Jim and Richard Orsak; a sister, Willa Mae Silhavy; and a granddaughter, Samantha Orsak.
Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
