      Sylvia Laznovsky                               (June 30, 1937 - February 28, 2010)
       

      Sylvia Jean Laznovsky, 72, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the Ennis Regional Medical Center .

      She was born on June 30, 1937 to Frank A. and Mary (Trojacek) Laznovsky in Ennis , Texas . She grew up in the Ennis area and attended Central High School for eight years and graduated from Ennis High School . She then attended Draughons Business College and went to work for the Federal Government Defense Contract Service Administrative Region, retiring with thirty-six years of faithful service. She was a member of the WFLA Lodge #401 and SPJST Lodge #135. Her family was very active in the American SOKOL and the local unit of SOKOL KHB of Ennis. On February 14, 2010 she was recognized as a fifty-five year member of SOKOL KHB. During her thirty-five plus years as Unit Director and Southern District Director, she touched the lives of hundreds of young people, encouraging fitness and patriotism. She also served on the American SOKOL National Executive Board as Membership Director from 2000 to 2005. She was a charter member of the Texas Czech Genealogical Society, member of the Ennis Czech WomenÂ’s Sewing Circle and member of Texans of Czech Ancestry.

                  She is survived by one brother, Larry Laznovsky and his wife, Lil of Ennis; nieces: Lisa and her husband, Nathan Vyers of Ennis and Lori Laznovsky of Flower Mound, along with a great niece, Olivia Vyers of Ennis.

                  Visitation will be Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Keever Mortuary. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Keever Chapel. Interment will be at Myrtle Cemetery , under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

                  In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to the SOKOL KHB Ennis Building Fund, P O Box 205 , Ennis , TX 75120 .
