Funeral services for Rudy Olshovsky, 79, of Danbury will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Danbury with Father William Oliver officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery .
Mr. Olshovsky passed away on Aug. 28, 1995 in Angleton.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Palms Funeral Home.
Mr. Olshovsky was born on Jan. 31, 1916 to Rudolph Olshovsky, Sr., and Albina Lauer in Yoakum , Texas . A Danbury resident since 1943, he was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He was a World War II Army veteran, was employed by Hoskins Mound Sulfur Company for 13 years, and later by the Texas State Highway Department, from which he retired on Dec. 31, 1981 .
He was preceded in death by his son, Ernest James Olshovsky.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Olshovsky of Danbury , to whom he was married on Feb. 20, 1939 in Yoakum, Texas; son, Leonard Olshovsky of Richwood; daughters, Louise Bullard of Angleton, Dorothy Hunter of West Columbia, and Janie Vittitow of Alvin; brother, Frank Olshovksy of Kiow [Kiowa], OK; sisters, Emma Thompson of Danbury and Lillie Prasek of Schulenburg; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John McAdams, III, Christopher Clawson, Michael McAdams, Jamie Olshovsky, Johnny Thompson, and James Machart.
