Obit - Evans Dwayne "Bo" Jalufka, 1982
YOAKUM – Bo Jalufka, 25, of Yoakum was pronounced dead at a Yoakum hospital Wednesday evening, June 30, 1982 from injuries received when he fell from the back of a pickup truck while working cattle.
Jalufka was with three other men when the fatal accident happened in the pasture owned by Joe Lauer four miles northwest of Yoakum in Lavaca County . Jalufka was the son-in-law of Lauer.
Yoakum ambulance attendant Jimmy Wood said the emergency call was received at 7:10 p.m.
Lauer said Jalufka was attempting to take a rope off a cow that had been roped when he fell from the truck. Lauer said Jalufka never regained consciousness after falling to the ground.
Jalufka had been working cattle with Lauer’s son, Joe Lauer Jr.; another son-in-law, Joe Machalec, and a neighbor, Buddy Hrncir.
Dwayne “Bo” Jalufka, a guager [sic] for an oil company, was born Nov. 19, 1956 , in Yoakum son of Louis L. and Lois (Evans) Jalufka.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday, July 2 at the Catholic Church in Koerth with the Rev. Al Padalecki officiating.
Burial followed in Salem Cemetery . Serving as pallbearers were Glenn Hermes, Rob Williams, Jim Williams, Wesley DeBord, Reggie Riebschlaeger and Ricky Blake.
