BETTY JOYCE STAFFGANADO - Betty Joyce Staff, 81, loving wife, mother and Mema, passed away peacefully on Jan. 29, 2010, with her family by her side. She was born Jan. 9, 1929, in Ganado, to the late Joe and Betty Kollaja.Betty Joyce was one of the most loving, dedicated, courageous women that committed her life to family. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't talk to her family. Her children and grandchildren looked forward to seeing Mema. A holiday did not pass that she did not have her family by her side celebrating the occasion.
Betty Joyce enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, in addition to a 17-day trip to Europe with her husband, Daniel. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her cats. She was a devoted member of Assumption Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the K.J.Z.T. Her faith in Christ gave her strength and comfort during her illness. Her gracious spirit will live on forever through those who knew her.Betty Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Daniel of Ganado; her daughter, Carole Stolle and husband Joe of Wharton; and sons, Darrell Staff and wife Jo Beth, Dale Staff and wife Betty Jo, and Gary Staff and wife Laurie, all of Ganado. She had 10 wonderful grandchildren, Jessica Neal and husband Ryan of San Antonio, Jennifer Cavender and husband Jarrett of Richmond, Bonnie Kocurek and husband Larry of Richmond, Amanda Mamerow and husband Timothy of Ganado, Joni Stolle of Wharton, Mallory Staff, Dustin Staff, Jason Staff, Ashley Staff, and Leah Staff, all of Ganado.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Alvin Kollaja.Visitation will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Jan. 31, 2010, at Ganado Funeral Home. A rosary will immediately follow at 6:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Assumption Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Feb. 1, 2010, with Father James Janish and Father Michael Lyons officiating. Graveside services will follow at Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dustin Staff, Jarrett Cavender, Larry Kocurek, Tim Mamerow, Michael Andel and Bobby Staff.
