      HOUSTON — Services for Martin J. Pivonka, 74, of Houston are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Assumption Catholic Church in Houston.

      Burial will be in Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.

      Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home in Houston.

      A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

      Mr. Pivonka died Friday in Victoria.

      He lived in Houston for most of his life and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

      Survivors include his wife, O. Catherine Pivonka; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and John Schleider of Houston; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Debra Pivonka of Houston; six sisters and three brothers-in-law, Bernadine Gerland, and Hattie and Jimmie Laffere, all of Deanville, Lydia and Joe Kostelnik of Halletsville, Texas, Mary Stanek of Shiner, Texas, Josephine and James Vaughn of Houston, and Albina Davidson of Portland, Ore.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bernard Pivonka of Deanville, and Albert and Laverne Pivonka of Houston; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
