              Lois,

I also found this item tonight:

              Victoria Advocate, 28 Oct 1962

              Golden Pink, Blue Event Held

              Advocate News Service

YOAKUM – One-hundred and twenty-five guests attended the recent golden wedding anniversary open house of Mr. and Mrs. Louis J. Rohan, 824 Walnut Street . The Rohans, Yoakum residents for nearly 40 years, were married at the Koerth Catholic Church by Father Joseph Kopp, Oct. 15, 1912 . Mrs. Rohan is the former Elnora Louisia Hermes.

They are the parents of 11 children, two are deceased. The nine children, who were all present at the celebration, include Mitchell Rohan, Cuero; Victor Rohan, Paul Rohan, both of Corpus Christi ; Charles Rohan, Hallettsville; Douglas Rohan, Yoakum; Mrs. Ursula Rever, San Antonio ; Mrs. Annie Lois Moore, Beaumont ; Mrs. Dorothy Janca, Corpus Christi and Mrs. Ruby Jiral, Yoakum.

Seasonal flowers were at vantage points throughout the home and in the dining room where guests were served, gold appointments predominated. A lace cloth, undertoned in gold, covered the refreshment table which held a centerpiece of white gladioli sprinkled with gold and fashioned similar to a miniature water fall. The sheet cake was iced in white and detailed with two large bells bearing the couples names tied together with “50” in gold numerals. Smaller gold trimmed bells and bows edged the confection.

Members of the houseparty were Barbara Rohan, Corpus Christi ; Shannon Moore, Beaumont ; and Rosemary Rohan, Cuero. Nancy Sanders of San Antonio presided at the guest register.

I have some information on the descendants of Ruby Jiral (husband Johnny) and Mitchell and Irene Wendel Rohan if you're interested.

Lois, if the information I found on a Rohan family tree at Ancestry.com is correct, your Frank Rohan is related to the Frank Rohan who married Anna Schmied/Schmidt.  This is what I found:

Frantisek Rohan b. 25 May 1855 married Anna Schmied/Schmidt b. 25 Jul 1849.  She had been previously married to Constantin Recek.  After she died, Frantisek married Veronika Valicek b. 16 Feb 1868.

                      Frantisek's parents were Filip Rohan b. 1 May 1822 and Zuzana Dorazil/Dolezal b. 10 Mar 1827.
                      Filip's parents were Fantisek Rohan b. 9 Sep 1797 and Anna Bohacek b. 7 Mar 1797.
                      Fantisek's parents were Jakub Rohan b. 1762 and Veronika Fojtik b. 1762.
Jakub's parents were Jakub Rohan and Anna Ondrusek.

Apparently this Jakub had also been married to Barbora Cervenka after Anna Ondrusek died and that is where your Frantisek comes from -- as follows:

Jakub Rohan and Barbora Cervenka had a son Ondrej Rohan b. 11 Jul 1785 who married Anna Adamick b. 1789.
Ondrej Rohan and Anna Adamick had a son named Jan Rohan b. 26 Sep 1812 who married Josefa Ocko b. 1812.
Jan Rohan and Josefa Ocko had a son Frantisek Rohan b. 16 Dec 1854 who married Marie Sablatura b. 8 Sep 1857 (Pilgrims for Hope Vol II has her birthdate listed as 7 Dec 1857).

I have additional information on the descendants of Frank Rohan and Anna Schmidt, but I haven't yet entered it into my program.  If you would like a copy, send your snail mail address to me at rschmidt@... and I'll mail you a copy of the printout.

Lois, I am not at home so I don't have my papers in front of me, but my husband's great-grandfather, Heinrich Schmied/Henry Schmidt had a sister named Anna whose second husband was a Rohan. I can't remember off the top of my head what his first name was. Her first husband -- I think his name was Constans Rejcek -- was killed after having his land surveyed to keep his neighbor from encroaching on his land. He was out one day building a fence and the neighbor's son shot and killed him. The Rohan had worked for Constans Rejcek and he married Anna after Constans died.

When I get back home again, I would be glad to look up my information and get with you to see if there is a connection between that family and your family.

                        Nancy Krauskopf Schmidt

I have a "James Rohan"  who married Mariana Pustejovsky.  His parents are also Filip Rohan and Zusana Dolezal.  Do you have this individual as a sibling of Frantisek Rohan?

I also have an August Rohan born about 1882 who married Albina Pustejovsky.  Do you have any info on this individual.

                          Thanks,

If you would like a copy, send your snail mail address to me at rschmidt@ykc. com and I'll mail you a copy of the printout.

A lace cloth, undertoned in gold, covered the refreshment table which held a centerpiece of white gladioli sprinkled with gold and fashioned similar to a miniature water fall. The sheet cake was iced in white and detailed with two large bells bearing the couples names tied together with “50 in gold numerals. Smaller gold trimmed bells and bows edged the confection.

Yes, he is a sibling of Frantisek Rohan who married Anna Schmidt.

Vincenc James Michael Rohan, son of Filip Rohan and Zuzana Dorazil/Dolezal was born 4 Jul 1865 in Lichnov #71 and died 15 Sep 1949 in DeWitt Co.  He married Mariana Pustejovsky on 15 Nov 1888 in Lavaca Co.  She was born on 7 Dec 1869 in Mnisi #46 and was the daughter of Jan Pustejovsky and Magdalena Nemec.

August Rohan was the son of Frantisek Rohan and Anna Schmidt.  He married Albina Pustejovsky and their children are:  Hennerita Rohan, Elenor Rohan, Ben Rohan, Sylvester Rohan and Alfons Rohan.  I don't have any other details on this family, just their names.  And it's always possible there could be more children that my husband's uncle didn't find when he did the research on this family.

Anna Schmidt Rohan was a sister to my husband's great-grandfather.  Are you a direct descendant of hers?

                            Frantisek's parents were Filip Rohan b. 1 May 1822 and Zuzana Dorazil/Dolezal b. 10 Mar 1827.

                            Thanks,

If you would like a copy, send your snail mail address to me at rschmidt@ykc. com and I'll mail you a copy of the printout.

                            Nancy Krauskopf Schmidt

I have a "James Rohan"  who married Mariana Pustejovsky.  His parents are also Filip Rohan and Zusana Dolezal.  Do you have this individual as a sibling of Frantisek Rohan?

I also have an August Rohan born about 1882 who married Albina Pustejovsky.  Do you have any info on this individual.

If you would like a copy, send your snail mail address to me at rschmidt@ykc. com and I'll mail you a copy of the printout.

                              Nancy Krauskopf Schmidt

Albina Pustejovsky was a sister to my great grandmother Johanna Pustejovsky Melnar.  Mariana was also a sister to Albina and Johanna.

I do have some information on August Rohan and his family.  Would you like this info?  I also know the spouse of Alfonse Rohan.  She lives in Alvin, Tx just outside of Friendswood, where I live.  Her home is only a couple of miles from me.  She and my mom are friends.

I have a "James Rohan"  who married Mariana Pustejovsky.  His parents are also Filip Rohan and Zusana Dolezal.  Do you have this individual as a sibling of Frantisek Rohan?

I also have an August Rohan born about 1882 who married Albina Pustejovsky.  Do you have any info on this individual.

If you would like a copy, send your snail mail address to me at rschmidt@ykc. com and I'll mail you a copy of the printout.

If you would like a copy, send your snail mail address to me at rschmidt@ykc. com and I'll mail you a copy of the printout.

Mary Adamec Pustejovsky was a half-sister to my great grandmother Filomena Janik Stavinoha.  From the information I have gotten from census records, Mary and Joseph Pustejovsky had 12 children.  Do these match up to the children you have?

Is Joseph Pustejovsky, Jr. the one who lived in Wallis?  Did he die 2 Mar 1934?  Was his wife's name Julie?  I was hesitant to add this info to my tree since there were several Joseph Pustejovskys and I didn't want to get them mixed up.

There were about 15 siblings in the Pustejovsky family.  A brother, Joseph, married Mary Adamez (this could be typo on my part).  They had 7 children.  Not sure where they lived.  One of the children (Joseph A lived in Wallis Texas).

The Pustejovsky family is quite extensive......several people on this group are related through this family.

I would like to have whatever info you have on the Rohans.  And the Pustejovsky family info is getting very interesting.  Did Albina, Johanna and Mariana have a brother named Joseph who married Mariana Adamec and lived in Danbury?

I do have some information on August Rohan and his family.  Would you like this info?  I also know the spouse of Alfonse Rohan.  She lives in Alvin, Tx just outside of Friendswood, where I live.  Her home is only a couple of miles from me.  She and my mom are friends.

I also have an August Rohan born about 1882 who married Albina Pustejovsky.  Do you have any info on this individual.

If you would like a copy, send your snail mail address to me at rschmidt@ykc. com and I'll mail you a copy of the printout.

                                    Nancy Krauskopf Schmidt

That's the one!  Another piece of my Janik family puzzle falls into place :-)

If you would like a copy, send your snail mail address to me at rschmidt@ykc. com and I'll mail you a copy of the printout.

That's the one!  Another piece of my Janik family puzzle falls into place :-)

Mary Adamec Pustejovsky was a half-sister to my great grandmother Filomena Janik Stavinoha.  From the information I have gotten from census records, Mary and Joseph Pustejovsky had 12 children.  Do these match up to the children you have?

There were about 15 siblings in the Pustejovsky family.  A brother, Joseph, married Mary Adamez (this could be typo on my part).  They had 7 children.  Not sure where they lived.  One of the children (Joseph A lived in Wallis Texas).

The Pustejovsky family is quite extensive......several people on this group are related through this family.

                                        Nancy,

                                        Frantisek's parents were Filip Rohan b. 1 May 1822 and Zuzana Dorazil/Dolezal b. 10 Mar 1827.

If you would like a copy, send your snail mail address to me at rschmidt@ykc. com and I'll mail you a copy of the printout.

                                        Nancy Krauskopf Schmidt

Thanks so much for your help Matt!  My Janik family keeps growing and growing.  On my great-grandmother's side, I have been able to find all of her maternal great-grandparents (thanks to The Pilgrims for Hope, Vol. 1).  And have even been able to go back another generation beyond that on some of the lines.  Cyril Janik still remains a little more of a mystery.  I don't know his parents names or if he had any siblings or even what village he came from.  I may try to make a trip to LaGrange sometime in the next month or so to see if I can find some clues.

If you would like a copy, send your snail mail address to me at rschmidt@ykc. com and I'll mail you a copy of the printout.

                                          Nancy Krauskopf Schmidt
