      GALVESTON -- Anna E. Schattel, 85, of Galveston died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1993 at Seabreeze Care Center in Texas City.
       
      Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.  Dr. Wes Morgan will officiate.  Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock.
       
      Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
       
      Born July 31, 1908 in Galveston, she was a homemaker, lifetime resident of Galveston, member of Grandmother's Club in Galveston, and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW of Alta Loma, Texas #5400.
       
      Survivors include daughters, Betty Jean Spencer of San Leon, Texas, and Geraloine E. Kocurek of Pasadena; sons, Emil J. Schattel of Brookside, and Jimmy R. Schattel of San Leon; sisters, Emma Tacquard of Alta Loma, and Margaret Ertel of Alvin; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
       
      Pallbearers will be Rickie Schattel, Ruster Spencer, Randy Schattel, Mike Schattel Jr., David Kocurek, and Jimmy Schattel.
