      BEATRICE DORNAK MELNAR

      HALLETTSVILLE - Beatrice Dornak Melnar, 93, of Hallettsville, passed away Nov. 8, 2009.
       
      She was born on March 13, 1916 to August F. Dornak and Karolina Kutach Dornak in Worthing. She married Robert L. Melnar on Oct. 25, 1938 at St. Mary's Church. She was a member of K.J.Z.T., Catholic Daughters of Americas, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

      Beatrice is survived by: three sons, Daniel Melnar and wife Mathilda of Mont, Gilbert Melnar and wife Faye of Victoria, and Robert J. Melnar and wife Sylvia of Victoria; daughter, Ginny Appelt and husband Gary of Richmond; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren ; three step-great-grandchi ldren; and brother, Hubert Dornak of Hallettsville.  Beatrice was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert; parents; 10 brothers, Joe, Charlie, Louis, Willie, Albert, Mike, August Jr., Rudolph, Tom and Otto Dornak; and four sisters, Julia Brosch, Elenora Smirak, Pauline Chaloupka, and Lucie Sitka.
      Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Kubena Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Rev. John Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Koerth Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers (grandsons): Rodney Melnar, Darryl Melnar, John Melnar, Kevin Mersmann, James Terry, and Thomas Sage.
      Honorary pallbearers (granddaughters) : Sandra Bradway, Donna Mersmann, Melissa Terry, Laura Sage, and Kristin Appelt.
      Memorials: Hospice of South Texas, Sacred Heart Catholic Church or School, Koerth Cemetery Association, or donor's choice.
