      Alfred Charles "Lefty" Krause, 92, died March 5, 2002 in Kenedy.  Funeral services will be held Friday, March 8, 2002, at 2 p.m., in Goetz Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Shur officiating.  Interment will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
       
      Visitation will be at Goetz Funeral home Thursday from 6-9 p.m.  Mr. Krause was born Aug. 22, 1909, in Moulton, Lavaca County, Texas, to Friedrich William and Martha (Koenig) Krause.
       
      His original baptismal certificate, dated Sept. 12, 1909, signed by the Rev. G. Raffe, pastor of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Moulton, lists his name as Alfred Karl Louis Krause.
       
      He attended and completed Moulton schools and lived there until 1928.  he then moved, with his family, to Olmos, Bee County, Texas, where he worked in a cotton gin for his father and owned a country store.
       
      On Sept. 12, 1932, he married Viola Lydia Sliva; together they had four children, Gerald, Barbara, Henry and Kenneth.  In 1940, he moved to Three Rivers and resided there until 1970, when he moved to Seguin and settled in the Barbarosa community.
       
      Viola Krause precedes him in death along with his parents, his brother, Arthur Krause; his sisters, Hilda Hart, Lillie Bohac Schreiber, Viola Wallek and Erna Sliva Nations. 
       
      He is survived by his second wife, Elsie Lindeburg Krause of Hondo (Quihi Community), whom he married on Feb. 28, 1983; his children, Gerald Krause and wife Sigrid of Stafford, Barbara Krause Johnson and husband Clarence of Kenedy, Henry Krause and wife Mary of Durango, Col. and Kenneth Krause and wife Janice of Three Rivers; sister, Allyne Krause Doubrava and husband Charlie of Beeville; sister-in-law (Arthur's wife), Annie Krause of Schulenburg; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; Elsie's family: step-children, Lloyd Lindeburg and wife Annise of Corpus Christi, Wilbur Lindeburg and wife Gladys of Hondo and Shirley Sewald and husband Wilfred of Comfort; five step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
       
      Pallbearers are Wade Krause, Aaron Krause, Boyce Sliva, Royce Sliva, Edwin Wallek, Jr. and Carl Richard Doubrava.  Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Krause, Neal Krause, John Dulaney, Roger Gaskamp, Rick Hollis, Larry Wallek, Robert Doubrava, Roy Gene Doubrava, M.J. Sliva, Norman Sliva, Charlie Sliva, Howard Stridde, Harvey Meyer, Jason Cheatham and Jimmy Aydelott.
       
      Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
