      Larry Wayne Dunkerley, D.P.M., Sept. 30, 1945 – Aug. 15, 2009, 63. Born to George Garner Jr. and Lucille (Beasley) Dunkerley in Ennis, TX, Larry was a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, and served the podiatric needs to Ennis and the surrounding area for more than 30 years.
       
      A member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis, Larry was a Eucharist Minister and Lector. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and KJT and he served on St. John Parish Council, St. John School Booster Club, and the Catholic Charities Board of the Diocese of Dallas. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout and the Scout Master for Troop 203. Larry was also a Board Member of the Ennis Chamber of Commerce.
      He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Doris (Slovak) Dunkerley; son, Scott Dunkerley, and his wife, Janet, of Dallas; daughter, Jana Brooks, and her husband, Doug, of Fort Worth. Larry was especially proud of being a grandfather (Papa) to his six grandsons: Benjamin, Grant and Nolan Brooks, and William, John, and Samuel Dunkerley. He is also survived by his step-mother, Wauneta (Dunkerley) Plum, of Scottsdale, Arizona, and by his three brothers: Dr. Garner Dunkerley, III, of Austin, Dr. Gary Dunkerley, and wife Erna Lee, of Columbia, Missouri and Mike Dunkerley, and wife, Nancy, of Plano; sister-in-law Betty Dunkerley of Bastrop; and one sister, Debra Tarbox of Tomball.
       
      Pallbearers will be nephews: Patrick Dunkerley, John Kelly Dunkerley, Ted Dunkerley, David Dunkerley, Tony Dunkerley, Jim Dunkerley, Brian Tarbox, and Scott Tarbox. Honorary pallbearers will be James Slovak, Gregory Slovak, Kevin Slovak, Freddie Jakubik, and Michael Slovak.
      In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Capital Improvements Fund of St. John Catholic Church.
      Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009 at St. John Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18 at St. John. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
