      Deceased Name: Edith Bohac Vitek

      Edith Bohac Vitek of Round Rock, formerly of Granger, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2007.

      Edith was born on July 31, 1918 in Granger to Vincent (Jim) and Antonia Marek Bohac. She attended S.S. Cyril & Methodius Catholic School in Granger.
       
      She married Louis P. Vitek on November 24, 1936. They made a living farming in the Friendship community, what is now known as the Granger Lake. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking kolaches and strudel, crocheting, quilting and playing dominoes.

      Edith and Louis moved to Round Rock in 1971 and were members of St. William's Catholic Church, which was a mission parish at the time. She was longtime member of KJZT #18 and KJT #28 of Granger.

      Edith was gainfully employed at the University of Texas and retired in 1980. After retiring she and Louis did some traveling, which they really enjoyed.

      Surviving Edith are her son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Sarah Jo Vitek; granddaughter and her husband, Darlene and Ben Chapa; grandson, Glenn Vitek; and two great-grandchildren, Cody Kemp and Aaron Chapa, all of Austin. Also surviving is a sister, Vlasta Mekolik of Taylor and a brother, Jerry Bohac of Granger and many nieces and nephews.

      Preceding her in death were her husband Louis, two brothers Emil Bohac and Henry Bohac and a sister Mary Vitek.

      Pallbearers will be Glenn Vitek, Cody Kemp, Gilbert Vitek, Alvin Bohac, John Mekolik, James Bohac and Ben Chapa.

      Rosary will be Saturday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m. at the Condra Funeral Home in Taylor. Funeral Mass will be held at S.S. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger on Sunday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edith's memory to the KJT Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 297, La Grange, TX 78945, S.S. Cyril & Methodius Catholic School, P.O. Box 608, Granger, TX 76530, Lighthouse Hospice, 2913 Williams Dr. Ste. 320, Georgetown, TX 78628 or a charity of your choice.

      The family wants to thank the staff of Plugerville Care Center for their years of loving care for Edith and to Lighthouse Hospice for their support and ensuring her comfort.
