      Eugene was born April 18, 1939 to Felix and Francis Condel Konecny in Shiner, Texas.

      Eugene was a 10 year veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1958-1968 on the USS Collett Naval Ship. He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewisville, Texas.
      He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his kids and grandkids and having swim parties.
       
      He is survived by his wife, Marie Konecny;3 daughters, Leslea Harrison and husband David, Shara Webb, Gina Peters and husband Rodney Sims; 2 stepsons, Jeff Cooper and Brian Cooper; 8 grandchildren, Christopher, Marc, Cade, Shelby, Zachery, Tiffany, Cody, and Connor.

        Eugene James Konecny, age 66, passed away on January 10, 2006. Eugene was born April 18, 1939 to Felix and Francis Condel Konecny in Shiner, Texas. Eugene was a 10 year veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1958-1968 on the USS Collett Naval Ship. He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewisville, Texas. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his kids and grandkids and having swim parties.
         
        He is survived by his wife, Marie Konecny; 3 daughters, Leslea Harrison and husband David, Shara Webb, Gina Peters and husband Rodney Sims; 2 stepsons, Jeff Cooper and Brian Cooper; 8 grandchildren, Christopher, Marc, Cade, Shelby, Zachery, Tiffany, Cody, and Connor. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Joann Pavalka and Dorothy Cannon and 1 brother, Felix Konecny.
         
        A visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2006 from 7 pm - 9 pm at Dalton & Son Funeral Home, 1550 N. Stemmons Freeway, Lewisville, Texas, with a Rosary at 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewisville, with burial to follow at The Flower Mound Cemetery in Flower Mound.
