      Aaron Lois McNair, 78, of Houston, died Thursday, January 26, 2006, in Houston, Texas.

      Aaron was born November 18, 1927, in Wheelock, Texas, to Cornelius and Sophie (Lys) McNair. Aaron was christened in the Wheelock Methodist Church as an infant. He began his education at the Wheelock schools and was a graduate of Franklin High School. Aaron served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War.

      On June 3, 1949, he married Annie Mae Sefcik in Caldwell. They made their home in the Houston area where he was a homebuilder and were members of the Houston Brethren Church. Aaron was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and coaching sports. He was a Cub Scout Master, a member of the Masonic Lodge, VFW Post No. 4458 and was a great cook.

      Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Annie Mae (Sefcik) McNair; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathy McNair of Cypress, Texas, and Alan McNair of Houston, Texas; and one daughter, Jo Ann McNair-Lindsey of Cypress, Texas. He is further survived by two grandchildren, Courtney McNair and Taylor Ann McNair of Cypress, Texas; his sister and brother-in-law, Nell and Dr. Charles Lyons of Seabrook, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; and his canine companion, Champ McNair.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Patricia Ann McNair, and his sister, Jane Wilson.

      The family will receive friends and relatives from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.

      The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. January 30, 2006 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. The Rev. William Hodge and Bro. Henry Beseda will officiate. Burial will follow in New Tabor Cemetery.

      Memorials may be given to the Houston Brethren Church, 6207 N. Main St., Houston, Texas 77009.
