obit: Marie Eloise Stancik Tamalenus
- Marie Eloise Tamalenus, 84, passed away on December 23, 2008, in Webster.She was born on October 25, 1924, to Louis and Albina Stancik in Runge, Texas.Marie was preceded in death by her son Michael Paul Tamalenus and brother Henry Stancik.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-two years John Tamalenus; daughter Susan Smith and her husband Raymond; brothers John Stancik and Benny Stancik; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
She was a diploma graduate of Seton Hospital School of Nursing in 1946, and spent the majority of her nursing career with the US Public Health Services Hospital in Galveston. She was the Deputy Director of Nursing there when she retired in 1981.
Marie had a passion for working with numerous church groups and loved to sew and garden.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2008, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd., Webster, Texas 77598. A Mass will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 15500 El Camino Real, Houston, Texas 77062, with the interment following at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Dickinson, Texas.
