      Thomas John Svatek

      Thomas John Svatek, 86, of Colmesneil, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the Tyler County Hospital in Woodville. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Colmesneil with burial in Mann Cemetery in Colmesneil. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church before the service.
       
      Tommy was born on June 17, 1919 in Flatonia, Texas. He married Maxie Sturrock on January 21, 1961. They were happily married for 45 years, 30 of those spent living in Colmesneil, Texas. He was the greatest "Papa" to five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was an active and well-loved member of First Baptist Church of Colmesneil.
       
      He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxie Sturrock Svatek on August 18, 2005; her daughter & son-in-law, Jim and Sherry Mangum; and grandson Tom Mangum.
       
      He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Tom and Margaret Svatek, Jr. of Seguin; brother, Tony Svatek of San Antonio; grandchildren, Doug and Susan Mangum, Julie & Clay Calhoun, Jill & David Ricks and Dee & Tim Pickens and fourteen great grandchildren.
       
      Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Colmesneil, P.O. Box 247, Colmesneil, Texas 75938 or Mann Cemetery Fund, c/o Mary Mann, P.O. Box 457, Colmesneil, Texas 75938.
