BEATRICE "BEA" JANE DUSEKVICTORIA - Beatrice "Bea" Jane Dusek, age 78, passed away Friday, April 10, 2009.She was born Nov. 13, 1930, in Victoria, to the late Frank H. and Beatrice Vanek Dusek. She was a school teacher for 42 years. She began teaching at Stubbs School and Kemper City School. She also taught at several other schools, and retired in 1993, after teaching at Port Aransas for 16 years. She graduated from San Marcos Teachers College.
Bea enjoyed spending her time with arts and crafts, and ceramics. She also loved to sew; especially Christmas stockings. Each year, she always made a stocking for each of her students. She also made special ones for her nieces and nephews, and their children, and families.
She was a dear sister, aunt, and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sisters, Annie M. Cribb and husband Vance of Victoria, Helen Walker of Victoria, and Frances E. Pope and husband Robert of Nordheim; brothers, Frank T. Dusek and wife Naoko of Schertz, and James M. Dusek and wife Carolyn of Victoria; nieces and nephews, Frances Naomi Reilly and husband Gary of Georgetown, Robert M. Dusek and wife Tracy of Schertz, Carol Anne Marroquin and husband Ronnie of Belton, Sherrie M. Kroll and husband Wayne of Victoria, Vance N. Cribb III and wife Cindy of Grapevine, Linda Janecek and husband Stephen of Victoria, Vicki Walker of Corpus Christi, Matthew A. Dusek of Fort Worth, Scott Pope of Port Lavaca, Franklin H. Pope and wife Jill of Lolita, and Justin Pope of Nordheim; 18 great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-niece. She was preceded in death by her parents; and nephew, Randy Walker.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Colonial Funeral Home with Dan Jezioro officiating. Burial will follow at Shillerville Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert M. Dusek, Vance N. Cribb III, Matthew A. Dusek, Scott Pope, Franklin Pope, Justin Pope, and Kody Hardage. Honorary pallbearers are her nieces and nephews, and their families.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Texas or Shillerville Cemetery Inc. Arrangements are under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home, Victoria, 361-578-3535.
