obit: Michael Fuller - wife Hurta
The proud father of two sons, Michael and Jonathan, and the loving, sweet husband of Janie, James Michael Fuller winged his way to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 23, 2007.
Mike was born on March 18, 1954, in Cameron, Texas. He was the youngest of four children, born to Reynold "Doc" and Florence Gibbs Fuller.
Mike married the love of his life, Janie Marie Hurta, on August 7, 1977. Mike enjoyed being with his friends and family. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, customizing cars and going to car shows with his son, Michael.
Mike also coached his son Jonathan's baseball teams. He was also an engineer with Bayer for more than 31 years.
Mike's parents preceded him in death. Also, his wonderful friend and brother-in-law, Randy Hackfeld preceded him.
Mike leaves his earthly family, his loving wife of 30 years, Janie, two sons, James Michael Hurta Fuller and Jonathan Scott Fuller both of Baytown. Mike leaves 3 sisters, Gayle Boggess and husband, Charles of Katy, Jerrianne Evans and husband, Jim of Clear Lake and Becky Stephenson and husband, Phillip or Fairfield, Texas. Sisters-in-law are Linda Young and husband, Jerry of Athens, Texas and Becki Dees and husband, Charlie of Baytown. Uncle Mike also will be loved and remembered by David Boggess, Jodie McCrory, Susan Boggess, Charles Boggess, Brian Stephenson, Stephanie Esmond, Michelle Eppers, Nicole Dees and Christina and Joseph Dees.
Mike had a most special relationship with his father and mother-in-law, Leon and Louise Hurta. Mike was a loving husband, devoted father, caring brother and faithful friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will gather for visitation at Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home, 6123 Garth Road from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
A celebration of Mike's life will take place in the chapel of Crespo and Jirrels, at 6:00 p.m., Deacon George Rincon, will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Augustine, Benny Lansford, Keith Cox, Raymond Jordan, Keenan McCall, Ronnie Gilbert, Mike Morrison, Joe Drenowsky, Jerry Malone, Troy Leal and Skip Neal.
Mike grew to love and respect Dr. Robert Wolff and his associate Kelley Carr, P.A. for their wonderful care. For those wishing remembrances in Mike's memory, memorials are requested to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd. Houston, TX 77030 Attn: Robert Wolff M.D.
