      Vlasta Cernosek, 93, died March 16, 2009 at Monument Hill Nursing Center.
       
      Funeral services were Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 3 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn.  Msgr. Stanley Petru, Father Joseph Kariuke, and Deacon John McCourt will preside.  Interment will be in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Hostyn.
       
      She was born on Sept. 9, 1915 the daughter of Rudolf and Lillian (Parma) Mican of Ammannsville.  She was a member of the Altar Society and the K.J.Z.T.  Vlasta Cernosek was a homemaker and a retired nurse.
       
      She is survived by five sons, Frank L. Cernosek and wife Wanda of San Antonio, Harvey Cernosek and wife Carol of Tomball, John C. Cernosek of Houston, Richard Cernosek and wife Sherry of Richmond and Chris Cernosek and wife Jennifer of Kingsville; two daughters, Constance Cernosek of Houston and Mary Nordlof of New York; one brother, Rudy Mican; 17 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
       
      She was preceded in death by her parents Rudolf and Lillian (Parma) Mican, her husband Frank J. Cernosek and one son-in-law.
       
      Memorials may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or to a charity of one's choice.
       
      Fayette Memorial Funeral Home of La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
