Georgia Vincentia Pesek, age 90, of Jourdanton passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008. Georgia was born January 22, 1918 in Shiner to John and Elizabeth Marek. Georgia dedicated her whole life to caring and loving her family. She enjoyed doing all crafts, sewing, baking quilting and gardening. She is survived by her daughters, Georgie Rakowitz and husband James of Corpus Christi, Margie Prall and husband Jack of Merriam, Kansas, Janet Howard and husband Rick of Kingwood, Cecilia Miller and husband Phillip of Jourdanton and son, Robert Pesek and wife Darlene of Overland Park, Kansas. She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alois Pesek; sons, Tommy Pesek, Eugene Pesek, Stanley Pesek; daughter-in-law, Camilia Pesek; parents, John and Elizabeth Marek; sisters, Eleanor Divin, Annie Marek; brother, Edwin Marek and grandson, Ronny Hile. Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton from 2 - 9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2008. The funeral service was held at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Jourdanton at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Interment followed at St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery in Jourdanton.
