ANTON "TONY" BRANDL JR.EL CAMPO - Anton "Tony" Brandl Jr., of El Campo, died Feb. 28, 2009 at the age of 85. He was born on July 14, 1923, in El Campo, to the late Anton Sr. and Alma Armatta Brandl. He was a retired farmer and rancher and a member of the Knights of Columbus 2490 and the KJT.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Nielsen and husband Tim of Edna; sons, Tommy Brandl, Terry Brandl and wife Mary Ann, Paul Brandl and wife Gloria, all of El Campo; sister, Henrietta Jemelka of Houston; and grandchildren, Courtney and Brad Ramsey, Whitney and Krystle Brandl, Cody and Lane Brandl, Brian Nielsen, and Lindsay and Greg Hajovsky. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Brandl; son, David Brandl; sisters, Martha Kucera, Ann Hrncir, Alma Ustynik, Josephine Mitscherling, Mildred Kiely, and Lillian Dreiling; and brothers Jerry and Bill Brandl.Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today, with a rosary recited at 8 p.m., at Triska Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Janak officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Cody Brandl, Lane Brandl, Brian Nielsen, Larry Kiely, Bill Brandl, and Bobby Ustynik. Honorary bearers are the employees of Terry Brandl Welding.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John Church-Taiton or the KC 2490 Scholarship Fund.
