SYLVESTER KOVARLOUISE - Sylvester "Cap" Kovar, 94, of Louise, passed away on Jan. 31, 2009.He was born on Jan. 11, 1915, in Wallis, to the late Frank and Frances Zurek Kovar. He was a farmer and farmed until he was 90 years old.
He is survived by his daughter, Sylvia Nielsen and husband David of El Campo; sons, Clarence Kovar and wife Nelda of El Campo and David Kovar of Louise; sisters, Olga Popp of Louise and Annie Taylor of Kemp; grandchildren, Lea Urbanovsky and husband Fred, Brenda Tomanek and husband David, Amanda Smith and husband M.C. and Amy Kovar; great-grandchildren, Trent Tomanek, Katie Tomanek, Cameron Urbanovsky, and Noah Urbanovsky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; sister, Lydia Polasek; and brothers, Fred, John, and Jerome.Visitation will begin at noon on Monday, Feb. 2, at Triska Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Hillje with the Rev. Clement Quainoo officiating. Burial will follow at St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Triska Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to Louise Volunteer Fire Department or St. Procopius Catholic Church.
