JOE G. SKUCANADA - Joe G. Skuca of Nada died Oct. 30, 2008, at the age of 87. He was born Feb. 20, 1921, in Nada to the late Robert and Amalia Labay Skuca. He was a retired farmer and rancher, a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, and a member St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Kubena Skuca of Nada; daughters, Pat Matula of Eagle Lake, Rita Burns of The Woodlands, Kathleen Anderson of Houston, and Sandra Wishert of Nada; son, Joe G. Skuca Jr. of Nada; sister, Edith Poncik of El Campo; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Skuca; and sisters, Emy Gapinski and Florence Tucker.
Visitation began at 5 p.m., Friday, with a parish rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nada. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clint Wishert, Mike Wemhaner, Billy Beason, Ron Estrada, Lee Owens, and Brandon Taylor.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice or St. Mary's Building Fund.
