      HELEN MARIE SCHULTE

      HALLETTSVILLE - Helen Marie Schulte, 90, of Hallettsville, died Aug. 3, 2008.
       
      She was born on March 28, 1918, in Lavaca County, to Guy A. and Thresia Sitka Greer. She married William F. Schulte on Jan. 2, 1937 at St. Mary's Catholic Church near Hallettsville. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville.

      Helen is survived by two sons, Herschel Schulte and wife Linda of Hallettsville and Billy Schulte and wife Debbie of Victoria; three daughters, Lavonne Needham and husband Boyce of Gonzales, Magdalen Steffek and husband Victor of Hallettsville, and Cathy Rains and husband Mike of Georgetown; brother, Johnny Greer of Hallettsville; two sisters, Mary Bujnoch of Hallettsville and Evelyn Spann of Victoria; daughter-in-law, Bernice Schulte of Hallettsville; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  Helen was preceded in death by her husband, William on Aug. 11, 1978; son, Dale Guy Schulte; three brothers, one at infancy, Raymond "Rusty" Greer and Herbert Greer; four sisters, one at infancy, Josephine Vana, Lenora Morisak, and Annie Svoboda; and two grandsons, Quentin Wayne Schulte and Robbie Lee Steffek.

      Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today at Kubena Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church near Hallettsville, the Rev. John Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers: Dan Schulte, Travis Schulte, Ronnie Steffek, Chris Steffek, Steven Greenwell, and Matt Michal.
