Alex A. Teltschik, 91, of Lagarto, Texas went home to his Heavenly Father, Sunday, June 22, 2008. He was surrounded by his wife and two sons at the time of his passing. Alex was born May 16, 1917 in Weimar, Texas to Ernest and Ludmilla (Kainer) Teltschik. He joined the United States Army Air Corp during World War II and served in the Pacific Theatre. Alex married his beautiful, loving wife on June 17, 1950 and they raised their family in Robstown, Texas. Alex retired from Halliburton after 27 years at the young age of 59 so he could spend time with family. Alex and Polly traveled to family reunions and loved to visit with family and friends. They were always present at important events in the lives of their children and grandchildren.
In 1987, they moved to Lagarto, Texas so Alex could care for his ailing sister and brother-in-law. Alex was a loving, kind and generous husband, father and grandfather who never met a stranger and always had a big smile and a story to tell. He will be greatly missed by all who met him but we take comfort in knowing he is with his family in the presence of God. Alex was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pauline A. (Polly) and his two sons, Robert W. (Susan) Teltschik of Corpus Christi, Texas and James B. (Lisa) Teltschik of San Antonio, Texas, his grandchildren, Lauren Nicole and Reagan James Teltschik of San Antonio, Texas, Paul William and Kathryn Alexa Teltschik of Corpus Christi, Texas and sister-in-law, Hedwig Teltschik of Columbus, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Christus Spohn Shoreline and the staff at Wooldridge Nursing Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions or memorials may be made in his name to Lagarto Community Church or a charity of your choice. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 24 at 11:00 am Dobie Funeral Home Chapel, with the family being present from 6-8 pm on Tuesday. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 11:00 am Dobie Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be on Thursday June 26 at 2:00 pm in the St. Michaels Cemetery in Weimar, Texas.
