      YOAKUM – August M. “Gus” Mozisek, 72, of Sweet Home, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday at his home.

      Mr. Mozisek was born April 25, 1902 in Gebhardt, Tex. A farmer and rancher, he was a veteran of World War II.

      He was an active member of American Legion Post No. 571 at Sweet Home, and served as sergeant at arms.

      Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel.

      Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion, with members serving as pallbearers.

      Survivors include his wife, Ella of Sweet Home; two stepsons, Otto Berkenhoff of Corpus Christi and Gilbert Laake of Aurora, Tex.; a step daughter, Mrs. Ervin Albrecht; three sisters, Mrs. Paul Hermes of Koerth, Mrs. Carl Huchlefeld and Mrs. Henry Huchlefeld, both of Hallettsville.
