He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Teresa Janda; brothers Jerry Janda, George Janda and Vastine Janda; sisters-in-laws Agnes and Bernice.
He is survived by nieces Margaret Stockton of Laguna Vista, Texas, Rose Knight of Columbia, MO, Pat Davison and husband Ed of Shertz, and Jane Copeland, and husband Richard of La Grange; nephews James Janda, and wife Linda of DeSoto, Texas, Leroy Janda, and wife Virginia of San Antonio, Tx, Tommy Janda, and wife Karen of La Grange, and Mark Janda, and wife Sharon of Bartlesville, OK.<!--[if !supportEmptyParas] -->Mr. Janda was a member of U.S. armed forces 80th Division 317th Infantry Company K during World War II. He was wounded in action November 1944 and awarded a Purple Heart. Mr Janda received four bronze stars in service to his country.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 14, 2008 at Koening-Strickland Funeral Home with burial in the Cedar Cemetery.
