EDWARD F. STRNADVICTORIA - Edward F. Strnad, 85, passed away March 22, 2008. He was born Oct. 5, 1922, in Taylor, to the late Stanley Vince and Matilda Hosek Strnad.He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was an artillery trainer and instructor. He owned and operated Texaco stations in Victoria for many years. Mr. Strnad was a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral, VFW, and the American Legion.
Survivors include his daughter, Dorothy Ann Vincent and her husband, Bob; grandchildren, Theresa Serna and husband, Brook, Kristy Holly and husband, Doyle, Tim, Paige and Brian Vincent; and great-grandchildren, Karson Holly, Dawson Holly, Patrick Serna, Sierra Serna, and Kelsi Urrutia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Correen Strnad; sisters, Annie Saski and Bertha Pribyl; and brothers, Stanley Strnad, Benjamin Strnad, and Charlie Strnad.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral. Burial with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council, AL, CWV, VFW, DAV, MCL, MOWW, Ex-POW, VVA and KWV will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Pribyl, Gary Pribyl, David Pribyl, Marvin Saski, Larry Saski, Roger Saski, and Robert Strand. Honorary pallbearers will be all his nieces and nephews.
