      Joe W. Tupa
After a full and rewarding life, Joe W. Tupa, 95, went to meet his Maker on March 9, 2008.

Born on March 1, 1913, in Fayette County to Czech immigrants, Joe and his wife of 69 years, Annie, moved to San Antonio in 1942. After a successful career, Mr. Tupa spent his later years enjoying golf, gardening, and his 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was well known around area golf courses, and also boasted that he could grow potatoes as big as his head. But his favorite moments were those spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially during one of his many family barbeques.

Also surviving Mr. Tupa are daughters Geneva Forte of Austin and Bea Ezba of San Antonio; sons, Gary Tupa and wife, Cathy of San Antonio and Joey Tupa and wife, Lea of San Antonio and his best friend ever, his dog, Rudy.
