Agnes Mae SlovacekAGNES MAE SLOVACEK, 90, of Houston, died Friday, February 29, 2008 in a Missouri City Nursing Home.Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Dr. Carl Jennings Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Phillips Cemetery in Travis.Mrs. Slovacek was born January 11, 1918 in Rosebud to George and Susie Smelser Baker. She married E.J. (Johnny) Slovacek in 1940 and moved to Houston where they spent 54 years of married life. She was preceded in death by her husband and her four brothers, Walter, George Jr., Frankie, Raymond and their wives. She is survived by her son, John Raymond Slovacek and fiancee Chris Fleming. Her daughter, Sue Ann Werner and husband George; six grandchildren, Dana and Bill Bryant, John and Kathy Longshore, Cheryl and John Brisbane, Julie and Scott Harris, Mary Longshore and Karen Longshore; seven great grandchildren, Erica and Jeff Edley, Michelle Longshore, Audrey, Erie and Isaac Harris and Mary Michael and Erin Brisbane.Agnes' main occupation in life was taking care of others and we will miss her greatly.Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.COOK-GERNGROSS-GREEN-PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME 111 S. 2nd Street Rosebud, TX 76570 254-583-7812
