JOHN (JACK) LOUIS DVORAK passed away October 26, 2007 after a brief
He was born February 17, 1924 to Mildred and Louis Dvorak in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa where he lived until joining the Army Air Corps where he was
stationed in England. He retired from 3M Company Printing Products as
National Sales Manager in 1988 and moved to The Woodlands, TX. He then
moved to River Plantation to pursue his love of golf.
He is survived by his loving family; wife of almost 60 years, Adah
(Jackie) and three daughters. Jan Spencer, Sandra and husband Michael
Gellner, Kathryn and husband Jay Dodaro. Grandchildren Sarah and Geoffrey
Spencer, Christopher and Megan Gellner, Gretchen and Gregory Stell and
wife Janessa. Great grandsons Gabriel and Julian Spencer and Stryder
Stell. Step grandchildren are Dawnielle, Jayson and Robert Dodaro.
He was affiliated with the Masonic Order for 60 years. He was an
active member of Arabia Shrine Center serving as an Ambassador, Lt.
Colonel and President of Montgomery Shrine Club. His love for Drum and
Bugle Corps existed from a YMCA Corps in Cedar Rapids to the Arabia Shrine
in Houston and Hella Shrine in Dallas where he played the baritone horn.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday Nov. 3 at 4:00 with a
reception following at St James Episcopal Church at 1803 Highland Hollow
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Shriners Hospital
for Children, 6977 Main Street, Houston, TX 77030.
