      ROBSTOWN -- Rose Malik Hlavac, a homemaker, farmer and member of St.
      John Nepomucene Catholic Church died Oct. 27, 2007. She was 94.

      Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Greene of Taylor; a brother,
      Frank Malik of Charlottesville, Va.; and two grandsons.

      Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Mass
      will be at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 2 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church.
      Burial will be in Robstown Memorial Park.

        Rose Malik Hlavac, 94, was born in Granger, Texas on August 30, 1913
        to Rochus and Antonie Strmiska Malik. She died on October 27, 2007 in
        Corpus Christi, Texas. Rose's family moved to Robstown in 1926 when
        she was 13 years old. She married Joe Hlavac in 1932. Rose was a
        homemaker/farmer and a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church
        in Robstown, the St. Anne's Altar Society and KJZT #73. She was
        preceded in death by Joe Hlavac, her husband of 61 years; two
        brothers, Tom Malik and Joe Malik; and three sisters, Mary Skurka,
        Agnes Podest and Lillie Malik. Survivors include her daughter, Mary
        Ann Greene of Taylor, Texas; grandsons, Benjamin Greene of Roseland,
        Louisiana and Matthew Greene of Corpus Christi, Texas; one brother,
        Frank Malik of Charlottesville, Virginia. Visitation will be from 9:00
        A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Thursday,
        November 1, 2007 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral
        Mass will be concelebrated at 10:30 A.M. Friday, November 2, 2007 in
        St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Showalter and Rev.
        Paul Roman as concelebrants. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial
        Park.
