JOHN R. KNEZEKVICTORIA - John R. Knezek I, of Victoria, passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007. He was born March 27, 1931, in Gonzales, the son of Emil J. and Lillie Barta Knezek.He married Vera Lou Turner on Feb. 12, 1954, in Yoakum. He was a past president of the Kiwanis Club in Yoakum, a volunteer for the Make a Wish Foundation, member of the Bow Hunters Association, and he served with the National Guard. He retired from Welex a division of Halliburton.
He is survived by his wife, Vera of Victoria; son, John Robert Knezek II and wife Beth of Inez; daughter, Patti Knezek Zarosky and husband Bernard of Pleasanton; and daughter, Debbi Knezek Foeh and husband Russell of Sinton. Also surviving are his grandchildren, John Matthew, Michael Robert, Timothy Allan, Geoffrey Wayne and Gena Leigh Zarosky; Blair Elise and John Robert Knezek III and Brandi Nicole and Conley Jacob Foeh.Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:45 p.m. today at County Line Cemetery, with Bernard Zarosky and Ronnie Austin officiating.
Memorials: Hospice of South Texas or the Inez Volunteer Fire Department.
Pallbearers include his children and grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers include Michael Hicks, Ronnie Austin, Ronnie Pahmiyer, Curtis Connally, Boniface Gbalazehe M.D. and members of the Inez Volunteer Fire Department.
