FREDDIE RAY MAREKGONZALES - Freddie Ray Marek, 65, of Gonzales, died in his residence on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007.He was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Gonzales, to Velma Kirchoff Marek of Gonzales and the late Jim Felix Marek. He was a retired electrical superintendent for the city of Gonzales, served in the National Guard, and was a member of First Lutheran Church. He married Carla Dawn Friedrich, in Gonzales, on Aug. 28, 1965.
He is survived by his mother, Velma Marek; his wife, Carla Marek; his daughter, Denise Keith and husband Steve of La Rue; and two grandchildren, Jase Ryan Keith and Blake Weston Keith.
He was preceded in death by his father; infant sister; and brother, Jim Robert Marek.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home in Gonzales. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ildiko Rigney officiating.
Pallbearers: Robert Miller, Jeff Burress, Slim Leland, Max Barta, Alan Marek, and Rick Ford.
Honorary pallbearers: Lynn Smith Jr., Paul Miller, Josh Elkins, Fred Smith, Geoff Wheeler, Ken Paris, Dusty Barta, Calvin Spacek, and Chance Randolph.Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church.
