Frank C. Tusa, 84, passed away at this Elm Mott residence on March 17 2007.
Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 pm with Rosary recited at
6:15 pm, Wednesday, March 21. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am
Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, 1401 Washington
Street, with Father Iruayaraj Nelapatti-Thomas as officiant. Burial will
follow in Waco Memorial Park.
Frank was born May 21, 1922 in Highbank, Texas to Vicenzo Charles and Louise
Loera Tusa. He attended schools in both Higbank and Reagan. He was drafted
into the US Army during WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star while serving
in the Philippines. He also served with occupational forces in Japan where
he supervised Japanese prisoners in Yokohama Bay. O n Nov 4, 1951, Frank
married Minnie Clarice Brown in McLennan County. He was always an achiever,
extremely independent and a family man. He was a member of St. Mary's
Catholic Church of the Assumption. He owned and operated Tusa's Grocery
and Market in Waco for more than 30 years and enjoyed raising and selling
cattle and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Clarice, who passed
away on Sept 17 1998; and his eight siblings.
Survivors include his son, Michael Tusa and wife Rebecca of Waco;
grandchildren, Bradley Tusa, Sarah Witt, Angel Tusa, Fred Tusa, Frank Tusa
II and April Tusa, all of Waco; devoted nieces, Dorothy Driscell and
Charlene Myer, both of Houston; his beloved dog, Peanut; and numerous other
family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Tusa, Angel Tusa, Horace Crow, Dr. Mark Tusa,
Johnny Tusa and Tommy Kalina. Honorary Pallbearers will be Pat Tusa, Fred
Tusa, Frank Tusa II, Charles Tusa, Butch Pavelka, Kenneth Kunkel and Michael
Frank dearly loved his family and will be greatly missed by his family and
