      Angletonon: EDWIN HORACE"OBBIE" MARKOWSKY , 89, passed away March 8, 2007 in Bedford, Tx.
       
      He was born September 24, 1917 in Cuero, Texas to William (Bill) Gustave Markowsky and Myrtle Magdaline Worley Markowsky. He Married Ethel Ragan Zilch September 18, 1947.
       
      He enlisted in the U.S. Aircorps on January 22, 1940 and attained the rank Lt. Colonel. He was awarded the following ribbons and medals in the order of precedence of decorations and awards: Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Metals, American Defense; American Campaign; WWII Victory Medal; NATO Defense; Korean Service; Air Force Longevity (with hour glass); Air Force Reserve Medal; Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation; U.N. Service Medal; and Korean War Service. He resided in Houston for many years following his military career and then located in Angleton, Texas where he owned and operated a bottled gas business.
       
       He is preceded in death by his parents William (Bill) Gustave Markowsky , Myrtle Markowsky, sister: Mary Jo Keilberg, wife: Ethel Louise Ragan Zich Markowsky and step-daughter: Mary Lee Walker Hamilton. Survivors include nephews, Sam and Philip Keilberg, several step grandchildren, three grand-nieces and one grand-nephew, and several cousins.
       
      Visitation: Sun., 6:30 to 8pm at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Mon., 10am at Freund Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kristi Pursy officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery with Full Military Honors, under the direction of Freund Funeral Home, Cuero. 361-275-2343.
