      STEPANEK, , DORIS HARRIET 4/4/17 - 1/29/07 On January 29, 2007, Mom
went home to be with Jesus and her devoted husband of 63 years,
Raymond, who has waited for her in heaven the past 3 years. We knew
she was ready to join them, as she took her last breath and
physically reached out her hand to grasp theirs. Doris was born on
April 4, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio to Charles & Julia Shafranek.
Although a Texas transplant, she loved Cleveland and was very active
in her family and spiritual lives. She loved holding offices for the
St. Michael's PTA, received the "Outstanding Den Mother" award and
was a member of the Holy Spirit Circle. In Dallas, she was a
founding member of St. Rita Catholic Church, where she was an active
volunteer. She also enjoyed playing on several bowling leagues, most
recently the St. Monica Ladies Bowling League through December 2006.
Doris was warm hearted, patient, loving and full of life. She loved
to laugh, dance to Big Band music, sing, bowl, shop, listen to
sports radio - The Ticket, go to the beauty shop, bake, play the
organ and spend quality time with her family. She was known to her
family as "Mom", "Granny", "Bob" and "Queenie". She gave definition
to the term "mother" and "homemaker". She is survived by daughter,
Dorie Cavins; son, Mark Stepanek and wife, Shannon; grandchildren -
Trisha Cavins, Michelle Richardson and husband, Ryan; Matthew,
Murphee & Cassie Stepanek; great grandchildren - Piper and Stone
Richardson. She will forever be loved and missed. A special thanks
to her loving caregivers, Renae and Christina, as well as Carestaf,
Presbyterian Homecare and VNA Hospice. The family will receive
friends, this Thursday from 6:00 until 8:30 PM at St. Peter &
Paul Chapel at St. Rita Catholic Church. Funeral services will be
held at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 2, 2007, at St. Rita Catholic
Church. Rev. Mark Seitz will officiate. Doris had a strong desire to
helping those in need, therefore in lieu of flowers, the family is
requesting donations be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society - St.
Rita Catholic Church. "Eastgate ""Family Owned and Operated"" LBJ
