BERNICE J HAAS, 78, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2007. She was born to parents Alois Brosch & Julia Dornak on March 16, 1928 in Hallettsville, Texas.
She was preceded in her death by her husband of 54 years, Leo H Haas Sr.
She was a longtime Houston resident, a graduate of Mirabeau B Lamar High School and a member of St Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Her love for life and family was expressed by her service in the St. Rose Altar Society and St.Thomas High School Mother's Club for many years. Bernice was a Sales Representative for the Catholic Life Insurance Union for over 48 years. During that time, she was one of the top 12 Sales reps 17 times and the #1 Agent 3 times and continued with Catholic Life until her death.
Bernice is survived by her family: Leo and Cathy Haas, Leslie and Cynthia Haas, Larry and Sherry Haas, Lamar Haas Sr. and Louis Haas: grandchildren: Derrick and Jennifer Haas, Lindsey,Melanie, Melissa, Megan, Mallory, Victoria, Hunter, Lamar Jr., Austin Haas, Cherlyn & Cory Heckel; great grandsons: Luke Haas and Gavin Heckel; brothers and sisters in law: Ben and Mary Lee Brosch and A J and Dene Brosch; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday, February 2, 2007 with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Pat H Foley Funeral Home, 1200 West 34th street. A Mass of the Resurrection will be recited on Saturday, 11:00AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park-Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer, Houston, TX. Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons. Msgr. James B. Anderson will serve as Celebrant.
