Of Annie (Jurajda) Supak
Annie (Jurajda) Supak was born July 8, 1905, in the Bluff Community of Fayette County, Texas, the daughter of Jan and Anna (Hrachovy) Jurajda. She grew up in the Ellinger area and married Edward A. Supak on January 31, 1928, in Ellinger. She and her husband moved to Ganado where they owned and operated a Radio and TV business and a laundry business. After retirement, they moved to Columbus and was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. After her husband's death in 1971, she later moved to Kingsville to be near her daughters and enjoy spending time with her family. She also enjoyed gardening and gathering pecans, fishing, playing dominos and bingo.
Mrs. Supak passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2006, in a Kingsville, Texas nursing home at the age of 101 years, 5 months and 5 days. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jan and Anna (Hrachovy) Jurajda; her husband, Edward A. Supak; (1) son, Edward Supak; (4) sisters, Martha Svrcek, Mary Kramr, Lillie Supak, Rosalie Jurajda; (4) brothers, Lad, John, Adloph and Frank Jurajda.
Survivors include: (2) daughters, Cecilia Giese and husband Edwin of Kingsville; Helen Swank and husband Chester of Portland; (3) grandchildren and (5) great-grandchildren, Michelle Koehmstedt and husband Freddy and their children, Justin and Jocelyn; Yvette Joyner and her husband Chuck and their children, Colby and Cameron; Kevin Swank and wife Rene and their daughter, Sarah; (2) sisters-in-law, Rose Jurajda of LaGrange and Mary Jurajda of Ft. Worth; several nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Columbus, St. Mary's Catholic Church Restoration Fund or any favorite charity.
