JOHN PAUL MICHALSKY, age 81, born June 26, 1925 in Fayetteville, Texas to John Michalsky and Julia Matocha Michalsky died at his home with his family around him after a gallant battle with a lengthy illness on Sunday, December 31, 2006 in Houston, Texas.
John was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lorine C. Michalsky; son Johnie F. Michalsky and wife Mary; grandsons, Kristopher and wife Sabrina, Nicholas and wife Susan; great-grandsons Christian, Joseph and Bradley; great-granddaughter Kaela; brother-in-law Joe Tanecka; sister-in-law Rose Tanecka; nieces Jolene and Janice.
John attended catholic school in Fayetteville. On September 18, 1951 in Columbus, Texas, John married Lorine Chovanec and later moved to Houston where he worked for Schlumberger Oil Tool, Co. John was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he served as an usher for 25 years, a member of S.P.J.S.T. lodge No. 88 and the P.O.L.K. of A. His hobby was woodworking and building custom furniture and birdhouses
A visitation will be 5:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 501 Tidwell, Houston, Texas. The Rite of Committal will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
