Lillian Marie Janik, 91, of Wharton, formerly of Nada and El Campo, died
Friday, Dec. 1, 2006.
She was born July 1, 1915 in Shiner to John and Marie Barta Hartl.
She was a member of the St. Mary�s Catholic Daughters and the Christian
Mothers, the KJZT Society and was a homemaker.
She is survived by daughters, Millie Sobieski and husband John of Seguin,
Bitsy Lockley and husband Alan of Wharton and Caroline Ottis and husband
Dick of El Campo; sons, John Janik and wife Rose of Missouri City, Robert
Janik and wife Jody of Weslaco and George Janik and wife Sharon of
Arlington, brother, Jerry Hartl of Olivia; sister, Della Barber of Port
Lavaca; sister-in-laws, Agnes Hartl, Rose Hill, Chris Dwyer and Martha
Moritz; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Lillie Hartl, her
husband of 64 years, Steve Janik; three grandchildren; and several brothers
A Rosary was recited at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3 at Triska Funeral Home.
Funeral Services were held Monday, Dec. 4 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic
Church in Wharton with the Rev. Dominic Antwi-Boasiako officiating. Burial
followed at the Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton under the direction of
Triska Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Lance, Mike, Jeff, Clay, Jacob and Jordan Janik and Richard
Honorary pallbearers were Shari Dixon, Leah Frankum, Lanette Reinhardt,
Carrie Schulz and Jamie Gillar.
