      NEW BRAUNFELS - August Masar, 72, of New Braunfels, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006.

      Survivors: wife, Dorris F. Masar; daughter, Martha Masar Nickel of Cedar Creek; son, Nathan W. Masar of La Vernia; stepson, Paul Strickland of Austin; sisters, Evelyn Masar Kruse of San Antonio and Martha Masar Mahone of Brackettville; and two grandchildren.

      Preceded in death by: parents, Frank Joe and Amalia Masar; and brother, Frank Joe Masar.

      Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

      Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel, the Rev. Alfonso Gioppato officiating.

      Burial will be at Nixon Cemetery. Finch Funeral Chapel, Nixon, 830-582-1521.

      Memorials: American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 291048, San Antonio, Texas 78229-1648.

        Preceded in death by his parents, Frank Joe & Amalia (David) Masar, Sr. and a brother Frank Joe Masar. He is survived by his wife, Dorris F. Masar; son, Nathan W. Masar & wife Janet; daughter, Martha Masar Nickel; stepson, Paul Strickland; sisters, Evelyn Masar Kruse and Martha Masar Mahone; grandsons, Alex Wayne Nickel, Joshua Cole Masar and numerous nieces and nephews.
         
         Visitation Sunday, 3PM-5PM Finch Funeral Chapel-Nixon. Service Monday, November 6, 2006 11:00 AM Finch Funeral Chapel Father Alfonso Gioppato officiating with interment following at Nixon Cemetery.
