Elvera A. Vrba, 82, of Tours, passed away in an Itasca nursing home on
Saturday, Oct 28, 2006. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Tuesday, followed
by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours with
the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Martin's
Cemetery in Tours. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kotch
Funeral Home in West.
Mrs. Vrba was born Nov. 12, 1923 in West, Texas to Louis and Clara Damhuse
Glomb. She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church at Tours and had
worked as a nurse's aide at West Community Hospital from 1972 to 1986.
She married Ernest Vrba on Jan 21, 1947 in Tours, and he preceded her in
death on Feb 10, 1985.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Tim Vrba,
who passed away on May 11, 1991.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Smith and husband David of
Angleton, Texas, and Yvonne Paice and husband Robert of Sparta, Tenn.; son
Larry Vrba of West; daughter-in-law Diana Vrba of Houston; a brother,
Norbert Glomb of Arkansas; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Martin's Church Building fund.
