Yoakum: Frances Elizabeth Curry Vahalik went to be with the Lord on September 3, 2006.Born 2/13/1919 and a 1936 graduate of Kenedy High, she spent sixty-six years near Yoakum in the Midway community, raising her family and farming and ranching, She retired twice from Tex Tan, where she was a master tooler. Known for crocheting and cooking to express her big heart, she never spoke as unkind word in her life.Frances is preceded in death by her husband John Vahalik and her son John Edward. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Vahalik Lincoln and husband Carl Lincoln, granddaughter Jennifer Maca and husband Jeff Maca, great-grandchildren Matthew and Nathan Maca; daughter-in-law Nancy Berger Vahalik Nemec and husband Stan Nemec, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, kissing cousins, and children of the heart.The family requests contributions to St. Ann's Cemetery Association, the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers or food.Visitation will begin at 12 noon Wednesday, September 6th, at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with graveside prayer to follow at St. Ann's Cemetery near Hochheim, Texas.
