NEW TAITON - Joyce Lillian Kahanek, 69, of New Taiton, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006.
She was born Nov. 16, 1936, in El Campo, to the late August and Mollie Sablatura Livanec. She was a cook for El Campo Rotary Club and a ticket lady at Taiton Community Center. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, Taiton Community Center, SPJST, KJZT, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Oblate Club of St. John's, and was president of St. John's Altar Society.
Survivors: daughter, Karen Kahanek of New Taiton; sons, Clarence Kahanek of Spring and Glenn Kahanek of Rosenberg; sister, Evelyn Jurasek of Blessing; brother, Jerome Livanec of Florida; and three grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: husband, Alvin Kahanek; brothers, C.J. Livanec, Victor Livanec, and Robert Livanec.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. today at Triska Funeral Home chapel.
A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. tonight and 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Joe Vrana officiating.
Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery. Triska Funeral Home, El Campo, 979-543-3681.
Pallbearers: Eugene Krpec, Kenny Mrnustik, Cody Kahanek, Casey Kahanek, Gene Beery Jr., Tony Wied.
