Re: RE:Josef Orsag/Orsak
- A book was written about Shanghi Pierce (I belive the title was,
"Shanghai Pierce, A Fair Likeness" by Chris Emmett) that is really
interesting reading. I read it in junior high school (back when dirt
was still young :-). Enjoyed it so much I recall telling everyone I
knew about it. One of the things I recall from it was the story of
how some of the cattle that were shipped from the ranch died along the
way, and they were propped up among the live ones so that they would be
counted for sale along with the rest of the shipment upon arrival.
There is a lot of humor in the book as well as food for thought about
how life in that part of the world was back then. If you are
interested in Pierce, TX, you might want to read the book. I just
might have to read it again myself! :-)
P.S. There are some interesting passages about him at
> Pierce, Texas is between El Campo and Wharton on Highway 59 so itwould be in Wharton County.

- Sorry, Bill, I didn't realize this was going through the group. I lost your email when my computer crashed in January and I tried to email you from an old address from an email I printed out, but it bounced back. Please send me your current email. Thanks. Mine has changed, too. patsroar@....Pat Lyon
