      Elizabeth Kowis (Betty) Selensky
      ELIZABETH (BETTY) KOWIS SELENSKY of Baytown passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2006, at her home. She was born on November 10, 1909, to German speaking immigrants in Plantersville, Texas.
       
       Preceded her in death are her parents Eva and Mike Kowis; her husband of 45 years, John A. Selensky; son, John David Selensky; 11 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving to cherish her memory and follow her loving example are sons and daughters-in-law, George A. Selensky of Baytown, Fred and Carolyn Selensky of Oklahoma City, Bernard A. and Gerri Selensky of Comfort, Texas, and Polly Selensky of Baytown; daughter and son-in-law Dolores and Perry Beauchamp of Hillsboro, Texas; daughter Irene Golla of Baytown; 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. Our Mother, Mawmaw, Granny Betty, Aunt Betty, Sister, was a sweet, gentle, loving person whose major interest and energy were centered in her family and in her church. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she has touched during her 96+ years with us.
       
       Rosary 5 p.m., Sunday, July 2, in the chapel of Crespo & Jirrels, with visitation until 7 p.m. Service of Remembrance immediately following visitation. Funeral Mass 10 a.m., Monday, July 3, 2006, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Baytown, Rev. William Oliver, celebrant. Committal following at 2 p.m., Forest Park Lawndale, Garden of Gethsemani. Pallbearers will be Joe Golla, Tom Golla, Johnny Selensky, Freddy Selensky, Alan Beauchamp, and Sam Beauchamp.
       
       Memorial contributions may be made to Christus VNA of Houston, 601 Sawyer, #750, Houston, TX 77007, or St. Vincent de Paul Society, P.O. Box 565, Baytown, TX 77522.
