      HALLETTSVILLE - Wylie E. Jansky Sr., 84, of Hallettsville, died Monday, March 6, 2006.

      He was born Dec. 18, 1921, in Lavaca County, to the late Wylie V. and Mary Dietz Jansky. He was a member of SPJST, VFW, a veteran of World War II and received the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five Bronze Battle Stars for Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace and Central Europe Campaigns; American Defense Service Medal; and Good Conduct Medal; and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.

      Survivors: wife, Emma Vogt Jansky; daughters, Jean Wheelis of Johnson City, and Linda Sullivan of Hallettsville; sons, Lynn Jansky and Wylie Jansky Jr., both of Joshua, and Paul Jansky of Burleson; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

      Visitation will be noon on Thursday at Kubena Funeral Home.

      Family visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

      Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, the Rev. Herb Beyer officiating.

      Burial will follow at City Cemetery. Kubena Funeral Home, Hallettsville, 361-798-9272.
